Help with Listening Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from parents and teachers, grouped by where you run into them.

Scanning a worksheet

Tap Scan Worksheet to take a new photo, or Import from Photo Library to use one you've already taken. The app reads the problems on-device right after — there's no upload step and no waiting on a server.

For the cleanest scan

Lay the worksheet flat under even light, avoiding glare and shadows across the numbers. Printed worksheets with problems in a ruled grid or column work best — the app uses those rule lines to line up each problem correctly.

"Retry photo" keeps showing up

This means the app could recognize some of the worksheet but wasn't confident enough about the rest to guess. It's almost always one of these:

If only a few problems came through, you'll be offered a choice to continue with what was found or retake the photo — you don't have to get a perfect scan to start practicing.

Answering: voice or keypad

Pick how you'd like to answer before starting a worksheet. Keypad is a simple number pad with a Repeat button to hear the problem again. Voice listens for a spoken answer after each problem — recognition happens entirely on the device, so it works without an internet connection.

Voice mode isn't hearing answers

Speech speed

The Slow / Medium / Fast setting controls the pause between each spoken number, not how fast the voice talks — so numbers are always spoken clearly, just with more or less breathing room between them. Choose it before starting a worksheet.
